Ytria Launcher Widget

An Eclipse-based launcher for Ytria tools

Note: A restart of your IBM (Lotus) Notes client is required after installing a widget

This launcher widget is Ytria's first foray into Eclipse-based development for IBM (Lotus) Notes and Domino. The widget provides users additional ways of accessing Ytria tools from the IBM (Lotus) Notes client.

Installation instructions

  1. In your IBM Notes client (version 8.0 or higher) go to: File > Preferences > Widgets and make sure the 'Show Widget Toolbar and the My Widgets Sidebar panel' checkbox is selected.
  2. Click and drag the button below into the My Widgets panel. (Note: this installation method does not work with some versions of Internet Explorer, so as work-around you may right-click and save this Ytria_Launcher_widget.xml file to your hard drive and drag and drop the local file)
  3. Click and drag Ytria-launcher-widget.xml file into the My Widgets panel.
  4. In the window that opens, choose the Install this plug-in option then click OK. Progress bars will appear to indicate the installation process.
  5. When installation is completed, click the Restart Now button.
  6. A Ytria Launcher panel should now appear (also Ytria appears in the Notes client menu) and is ready for use; along with your other Feeds, Activities, etc. panels.

How it works

Note: Due to the current functionality of the context selection from the Eclipse client, there are a few known limitations when using the widget.
  1. It ignores any selected databases on your Workspace.
  2. The widget will generally launch the selected Ytria software with the focus on the most recently active/open Lotus Notes database. Also, document selection in a view gives context for the selection. Therefore an empty view or selecting a category will open the last active/open database—and not the currently open database.
  3. [scanEZ only] There are no frameset limitations when selecting documents. A maximum of 25 documents can be selected from a Lotus Notes view.
It's important to note that since IBM is continually updating the Lotus Notes client—we are confident that all of these minor flaws will soon be corrected.

Thousands of organizations use Ytria software for faster Notes development and better Domino administration
