Ytria eases replication management woes across IBM Lotus Domino domain

replicationEZ - Find, display and analyze all replicas across IBM Domino servers/clusters in one place within minutes.

Montreal, Quebec – August 15th, 2012 - Ytria Inc., a leading provider of IBM Lotus Notes and Domino software tools, announced today the official release of replicationEZ, a new locally installed add-on tool that provides a global view of a variety of replication related matters across multiple servers or even an entire Domino domain, and displays all properties and settings in one place.

“An important number of large organizations concerned with security continue to rely on their IBM Domino system,” explains Eric Houvenaghel, president and founder of Ytria Inc., “but that same powerful platform they value sometimes results in complex database replication issues. At times these are only discovered when vital processes become affected, and sometimes they remain hidden. Our tool facilitates access to accurate information and enables administration experts to remain pro-active and focus on value added activity.”

The software tool provides a snapshot of the current and past states of replication, and even reveals future replication events based on general and database settings. Important features include finding all replicas of a specific database across the server network, discovering duplicates, and comparing database properties such as ACLs, settings and note counts (documents, designs, etc). Another valuable function is the graphical representation of the various connections between replicas and between servers, and how replication is set to occur across the domain. Like all the Ytria tools, replicationEZ is client based and runs independently from Lotus Notes/Domino but within its security parameters.

“Ytria’s tools have saved us a great amount of time in our projects”, says Kim Greene, president and founder of Kim Greene Consulting Inc., “and they have allowed us to focus on the bigger challenges of our work. We were glad to be part of the beta testing team for replicationEZ because we already see the significant benefits this tool can bring to our clients’ clustering, migration and replication projects.”

Database replication is a major function of the IBM Lotus Domino platform that ensures business continuity. While this is inherent in every business strategy, organisations that operate in high risk environments emphasize this aspect and make disaster recovery a prominent aspect of their operations. For example, when failover occurs, the recovery plan put in place is only as effective as the preventive, detective and corrective tools that it relies on. In this regard, Ytria’s replicationEZ brings administrators transparency of their server network, and provides data access and analysis to ensure a winning strategy.

“Our goal with replicationEZ was to give Lotus Notes/Domino professionals like Kim an easier way to see everything that’s happening in their server domain,” adds Houvenaghel, “so that they can actually discover replication problems and fix them faster.”

Ytria’s replicationEZ is available for purchase as a standalone product and as part of an EZ software suite. Integrating it with the other Ytria tools, administrators will be able to have maximum control over what they see and do in their Lotus Notes/Domino environment. The ability to drill down to document level from a global view of the whole network, and vice versa, will be a matter of just a couple of mouse clicks.
