Secrets That Are Guaranteed To Save You Time

How to change the winner/loser before a replication

Select any Notes database (email, personal address book, applications etc.) on your workspace, open scanEZ from the Notes client toolbar.

The Replication Auditor of scanEZ is the tool to see exactly which database elements and documents will replicate between one database replica to another; in essence telling you what happens before the next replication. Click the Replication Auditor button on the scanEZ toolbar and the Replication Auditor window opens.

Click the Select button, and choose the server to find the replica of the current database. Next, click the Audit button which will then list all the design elements side-by-side and reveals which way the replication will occur (which design element is the winner/loser in the next replication) between the replica databases.

If you see a replication situation you'd like to examine more closely, right-click and Compare Document(s) on any design element to compare them side-by-side. To reverse the situation (switch the winner and loser of a replication) you can right-click and Delete Document(s) to delete the "winning" document (no deletion stub will be created) and ensure that the remaining document will be the new "winner".

Conflict icons can also appear when you perform an Audit, and will flag potential replication conflict situations. Follow the steps above to compare documents and delete (even edit) a document. Then you can be sure that the document you want will win, and avoid the conflict in the next replication process.
