Secrets That Are Guaranteed To Save You Time

How to change settings (i.e. refresh setting) for multiple databases?

The easiest way is to open the designPropEZ database itself in your Notes client. From here, click the New Batch button, and create as many batch documents you want. Keep in mind that this database is just a working example to show you how you can use the command line with designPropEZ. Since most of the designPropEZ database design is not hidden, you can access the design of this database to customize it to suit your needs.

Example: Each batch document here will contain the path of the database (Database Path), and you can set the property you want such as Prohibit Refresh (None/0/1). As you might guess, a 0 means not checked, and a 1 means checked. So, if you enter a 0 for Search (existing value), and a 1 for Update (new value) designPropEZ will search for elements in the test.nsf database that do not have the Prohibit Refresh flag checked, and will check it for you. When you have a list of batch files you are satisfied with, click the Goto MultiBatch List button.

In this view, click the New MultiBatch button, select the batch files (you just made) to be used, and save the document.

Use the Launch Selected button to execute the batch documents you want to run, and you are done.

You may be thinking, "If I have a hundred databases I want to change, do I need a hundred batch documents?". The answer is yes. However, to make this easier for you, if you use the Domino Designer to open the designPropEZ database, you'll see that we've included an example of database parser code (agt_GetDatabaseExample) in the PublicScript (Script Library) of designPropEZ to help you generate the batch documents required.

Note that we've also left the design of the designPropEZ database open for you to modify as you wish.
