Select any Notes database (email, personal address book, applications etc.) on your workspace, open scanEZ from the Notes client toolbar. Click to expand the Designs tree. Select any design element from the list to see its actual contents and field values. With scanEZ there are different ways one can approach seeing the $Flags (or any) field item.

Option 1- Simply browse through the fields and look at the $Flags item value for the selected document. Using this method you can see the $Flags setting one document at a time.

Option 2- Alternatively, you can also use the Field > Use this field as title feature, to list all the $Flags values directly in the explorer.

Option 3- Another way to see the $Flags setting for several designs is to select the design elements to be examined (via the checkboxes), and click the Compare Documents button. When the Document Comparator window opens double-click the $Flags field to view the value of this field across all the selected design elements.

Option 4- This method involves using scanEZ's "My Selection" (i.e. virtual) folders. Select the design elements to be examined (via the checkboxes) and click the Add to New Selection button to add the documents to the folder. Select the [Current] My Selection folder that appears in scanEZ, and then click the Diff button. Select the $Flag field and then click the Values button for a view of this flag setting.

Also available in scanEZ is an explanation of each flag value. In the Field Value tab of a document is a Help icon button, click this button. In the Help window that appears, there is a See available $Flags values... button which gives you a breakdown and definition of each flag. See $Flags Help Database entry.
