Secrets That Are Guaranteed To Save You Time

How to sign design elements using a different signing ID (without sharing its password)

NOTE: Our ‘Tips and Tricks’ section has been superseded by the Ytria Tech Lab. Archived tips are still being kept here for reference purposes. Please check the Ytria Tech Lab frequently for all the latest tips, tricks and tutorials to help you get the most out of your Ytria toolkit.

First make sure signEZ is running. If it's not, select any Lotus Notes database (email, personal address book, application etc.) on your workspace, and click the signEZ icon on your Lotus Notes client toolbar.

  1. Select the design elements you want to sign via the checkboxes.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Choose the Sign option along with any other options you like.
  4. Click the Sign Using tab.
  5. Select the Sign using stored ID file radio option.
  6. (Click for a full-sized image)

  7. Select an ID Reference in the drop down list (this assumes someone has stored an ID file in the signEZ database). Signatures that appear in this list can be used by you, without requiring you to know its password (since it's already been submitted by the actual ID's owner).
  8. Click the Sign button to sign the design elements using the stored signature ID.
Congratulations! You are now finished signing design elements using a signature ID; and without ever entering its password.
