How to see and edit the global ACL properties for all databases on a server

Part of the difficulty with maintaining ACLs is that there can be so many of them on a server; it becomes hard to keep track of them and all their properties. It's easy to have an ACL property out of place and not know where it is or even know if it exists—in this tip you will see how you can verify and correct Global ACL properties with aclEZ.

First make sure aclEZ is running. If it's not, click the aclEZ icon on your Lotus Notes client toolbar and select a server.

  1. Select the databases you are interested in and retrieve the ACL data within them. ACL entries will be displayed in the grid.
  2. Select the Global ACL Properties panel (make sure it is turned on: Panels > Global ACL Properties). This panel allows you to easily access the ACL History logs and Advanced ACL properties for every database on a server.
  3. What you can see in this panel:
    • ACL History—you can select several databases and right-click to open multiple ACL History logs (which can also be categorized, sorted etc.)
    • Administration Server
    • Modify Reader and Author action
    • Enforce ACL Across all Databases option
    • Max Internet Name and Password setting
See it all in one place, and see exactly how these properties are set for all databases on a server. Note: Similar to all grouping grids found in any Ytria software tool you can copy the grid onto your clipboard and paste the content into a spreadsheet or text file for reports etc. Global ACL Properties
  4. Select one or several ACL entries and right click Edit Element(s)... to apply any mass changes you want.
  5. Edit Administration Server
Congratulations! You are now finished looking at the global ACL properties for many Lotus Notes databases on a Domino server.
