Whenever someone edits (this includes enabling) and then saves an agent, it's also signed by that person—which usually means someone other than the mail owner. With agentEZ we will use the owner of the mail database (which is stored in the CalendarProfile document's Owner field) to set as the owner of the OutOfOffice agent—which can also be done for many databases at once.
This all means that you can easily have each mail database's OutOfOffice agent set to its owner—rather than manually setting the Run on Behalf of property for every single Out of Office agent on a Domino server. In this tip we reveal how you can set this property for a large number of Lotus Notes mail databases (with the corresponding mail database owner) using agentEZ.
First make sure agentEZ is running. If it's not, click the agentEZ icon on your Lotus Notes client toolbar and select a server.
- Select the databases you are interested in and click the Apply button to retrieve the relevant data within them.
- To select only Out of Office agents apply a text filter as seen in the image below:
- Now select and highlight all the Out of Office agents displayed in the grid. Press Ctrl+L to load agent details.
- With the agents now selected and loaded, in the right-click menu go to: Run On Behalf Of... and a window appears.
- By default the software looks for the first user in the CalendarProfile document's Owner field. (Change the options if necessary, however this tip will use the default settings).
- Click the Apply button to apply the mail owner for each agent's Run On Behalf Of... property.
